Filippo Giancarlo Penazzo
Ballet Teacher
Filippo began his artistic journey with the study of Matt Mattox and Luigi techniques. In 2014, he started studying classical, modern and contemporary dance at the Scuola del Balletto di Roma directed by Paola Jorio, where he also learned the Cunningham technique and some floorwork styles. In 2017, he graduated from the Scuola del Balletto di Roma.
In 2012, Filippo won a scholarship that allowed him to participate in the 6th edition of the “International Dance Theater Festival” at Pinzolo. In 2015 , he won another scholarship thanks to which he took part in the program of Musical Theater, for the duration of one month, in the prestigious “School at Jacob’s Pillow” in Becket (MA, USA). In 2014, he collaborated with the Accademia Nazionale D’Arte Drammatica “Silvio D’Amico” for a dance theatre show (“fromPINOCCHIO”), held at the “Na Strastnom” theater in Moscow, Russia.
In 2016, he participated in the “Operaestate” festival in Bassano del Grappa. This festival involved a collaboration with the Dance Well project. This project provided for the inclusion of people with Parkinson’s disease in contemporary dance classes. During this project, Filippo took part in these lessons and, at the end, took care of writing reviews.
In 2020 Filippo obtained the Diploma of Technical Teacher of modern-contemporary dance at CSEN. He continues to teach classical, modern, and contemporary dance.
