Travel
Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
When making your travel reservations please pay particular attention to flight arrival and departure times. We ask you to take into consideration travel distances, check-in times and allow yourself enough time for connections between the main airports, rail and bus termini to and from Urbania.
Please make sure that all travel documentation, insurance, visa and inoculations (if necessary) are all in order and updated for the whole period of attendance on the program.
Whenever possible our office staff will offer guidance. Please note that correspondence concerning travel arrangements can only be entered into after students have been accepted on the course.

Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) and Milan’s Malpensa are the key airports for long haul flights into Italy. It may, however be more convenient and economical for long haul passengers to take a budget flight to London, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam and then continue with their journey by train or “no-frills” airlines.
Ryanair flies from London Stansted to Bologna, Rimini and Ancona. These are the closest airports to Urbania.
To travel from the Rome airports to Urbania, students have found the easiest route is by coach to Aqualagna and then taking a taxi to Urbania.
If using this service it is recommended that flight arrivals are before midday and departures are after 3pm on the day of travel or arrangements are made for overnight/short stay in Rome.
Travel from Milan, Bologna (G. Marconi airport) to Urbania is best by train to Pesaro then bus or taxi.

By Plane:
Fly to Rome, Milan, Bologna, Rimini or Ancona.
Participants arriving at Milan and Bologna airports are advised to continue their journey by train to Pesaro. Then take the bus to Urbino and Urbania.
Trains to Pesaro run in the direction of Bari, Ostuni and Lecce.
By Train:

PLEASE NOTE: Train services do not go directly to Urbania. Travel plans by rail terminate at PESARO and proceed via the bus service to Urbania.
From Rome (Termini station) take a train to Ancona or Falconara and then to Pesaro*
From Turin, Milan (Milano-Lecce) and Venice there are direct trains (via Bologna) to Pesaro*
*On Sundays there is a coach service from Pesaro to Urbania that leaves from in front of the railway station at 14:25 (SOGET) and arrives in Urbania at 15:40. For weekday timetables consult a travel agent.
By Coach:
Weekdays there is a twice daily direct coach service from Rome to Urbino or Pesaro.
There is NO service on Sunday.

Rome – Pesaro: departs 16:00 arrives approx. 21:00
There is a connecting bus service from Pesaro via Urbino to Urbania.

Buses run from Pesaro to Urbino then Urbino to Urbania.

By Car: The route to Urbania from Northern Europe is to take the A14 motorway south from Bologna. Leave the A14 at the Pesaro/Urbino exit and follow the signs for Urbino, then Fermignano, and finally Urbania.
