Shaun Holmes, Music Director

Shaun Holmes is a freelance pianist who has played for the Royal Ballet Company, English National Ballet, Michael Clark Company, Rambert Dance Company, Ater Balletto, he has been repetiteur to Natalia Makarova & Dame Alicia Markova and is the longest serving pianist at London’s Pineapple Dance Studios, playing for teachers including Laura Connor, Ian Knowles, Maggie Paterson & Roland Price.  In 2007 he collaborated with Madonna in her directorial debut, the film Filth and Wisdom, where he selected the music he played & subsequently recorded some of his own compositions for the soundtrack.

He is the Musicians’ Schedule Coordinator for the London Studio Centre, commissioning some 150 classes and rehearsals a week and working closely with Margaret Barbieri.

Shaun was the audition and rehearsal pianist for the Royal National Theatre’s production of Carousel, directed by Nicholas Hytner  & choreographed by Sir Kenneth Macmillan.

He is a regular visitor to Japan where he works with Jacquelin Barrett teacher to the Royal Ballet Company etc.

In 2003 he was commissioned to write a report on the Music Department of the Royal Academy of Dance.

He was honoured in 2005 as a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, reflecting his commitment to community work, helping promote the performing arts in Inner London schools.

In the summer of 2017 he will be working with www.dancemasterclass.com in Italy & Spain.
