Nikki Coope – Yoga Fusion Teacher

Nikki started her dance career at the tender age of three, under the tutelage of Russian dance teacher Madame Zerkowitz in Kenya, which is where her lifelong love of dance began. She soon joined an RAD Ballet School in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she met future Dance Master Class founder and dear friend Angela DeMello.

Nikki followed the ballet school curriculum in Johannesburg until the age of seventeen. After completing her studies, Nikki moved to England to pursue a business career. As an area manager, she was responsible for the running of 17 stores and managed over 70 staff across southern England for a large and well-known printing chain. Having never lost her passion for dance, she joined and assisted with the teaching at an RAD Ballet School in London alongside Maggie & Thor Baldvinsson. During this time her ballet journey also involved attending regular adult ballet classes at the English National Ballet.

After moving to Spain in 2002 and opting for a career change, Nikki soon became a TEFL qualified English teacher. In conjunction with English teaching, and since 2008, Nikki has continued her love and passion for ballet by assisting with classes and dance productions at L’Attitude Dance Studio in Estepona with Marijke Wagner.

Nikki has since broadened her skills by graduating as a Hatha yoga teacher in 2014 from the Integral Yoga Teacher Training Alliance. She also completed the Raja Yoga Foundation course in2015.

Understanding the importance of body toning and strengthening within ballet, a strong focus in Nikki’s work as a yoga teacher is on improving core body strength, stretching, toning and lengthening as well as conveying the importance of breathing techniques and deep relaxation.

Nikki’s aim is to make a difference in other people’s lives both on a physical and mental level, holistically viewing the two elements as a whole. She encourages each person to embrace and develop their own potential, no matter their age or background.
