Massimiliano Greco

Accompanist
Born in Bari in 1967. He has a first class diploma with honours in piano studies. He did further training with Maria Golia and attended L’Accademia Chigiana in Siena with M. Campanella and A. Weissemberg.

He has won numerous piano competitions including the 1st Prize in the XV Rassegna Internazionale F.Liszt of Lucca and the 1st Prize at the Concorso Europeo di Ostuni.

He has recorded for RAI and for Vatican Radio. In 1990 he received the Attestato di Benemerenza Artistica from C.I.A.S. – Club Unesco.

From 1992 he specialized as Maestro al Pianoforte and Assistente Musicale for dance performances, playing with the most famous dancers in the world (V. Vasiliev, M. Guerra, E. Madsen, A. Molin, M. Gascard, V. Livtinov, P. Beamish, R. Strajner, G. Mayer, A. Razzi, J: Guiserix, M. Nissinen, M. Pierin, W. Piollet, C. Iturrioz, E. Terabust, R. Fascilla, L. Cosi, M. Bellezza, E. Hertel, F. Monteverde, G. Trinder, D. Verga, S. Beltrami, S. Wuersten, M. Pogliani).

He has been invited to the Festival of Spoleto by the Hubbard Street Dance Company of Chicago.

From 2000 he was selected as the Italian pianist to accompany the Masterclasses of V. Vasiliev, E.Terabust and A. Molin at the Concorso Internazionale di Danza di Caltanissetta.

He has recorded nine CDs for the accompaniment of classical and contemporary dance classes; his music is known all over the world.

He has been invited, as the Maestro al Pianoforte and the Assistente Musicale at the IX Corso di Formazione Professionale per Giovani Danzatori, at the ATERBALLETTO of Reggio Emilia.
On that occasion he played for Vittoria Ottolenghi for her “lezioni spettacolo”.

From 1998 to 2004 he was the President of the Associazione Regionale Puglia Danza/federdanza-A.G.I.S. Today, he is their Honorary President. Whilst in this position he organized some very big events with international recognition.

From September 2002 he is Responsabile Musicale of the Accademia Internazionale Coreutica Ente di Alto perfezionamento nelle Arti della Danza di Firenze.
From 2007 he is the Maestro Accompagnatore al Ballo at the Teatro San Carlo of Naples.
